A view from the Castle walls…

I think there is a song about that… or maybe that was “At The Carwash”…
Mary missed the bus. But another is coming right up. That is her avatar in the photo, left center.
Sorry this post has been so long in coming. I’ve had a hard time keeping up. I think my biorhythms are off.
A nice morning breakfast of toast, ham slice, orange juice, coffee… followed by a nine-mile walk, very much like walking in Overland Park, ups and downs. And only one wrong turn, soon discovered and corrected. Resting her feet at 6 PM then off to find food and beverage!
Listening to American music while having the evening meal. All while it is raining… welcome to the Camino.
A quick update from Mary: We have What’sApp updated and operational! About a half hour ago I received a text message from her while I was still slumbering… managed to find What’s App on my phone from years ago, somehow managed to update it and establish a through connection to somewhere in Spain. This is her jet-lag day. And she is going to try to find someone at her next lodging to take care of her trappings whilst she is off to do other things. Reportedly pretty tired. Her. Not me. Well, me too…
Coffee…!
I’ve often been impressed by Mary’s ability to compose a photo. These are unedited photos that she has been taking along the way: Basic street photos, interesting things…
It’s 0837 locally here in OP, Kansas. Mary is staying in a modest Hostal to the left of this Google Maps Streetview scene. While we slept, she made another short hop with Iberia Airlines: MAD to LCG (A Coruña). I’m still having my first cup of coffee and haven’t figured out the time difference between here and there. There are events on her calendar, but I don’t know yet if the times are Central, or Europe.
The streets, walks, and storefronts are so much different than downtown anywhere around here. Somewhat like what I imagine New Orleans to be like, though I’ve never been there either.
No word from our traveler yet this morning, though she’s probably out for lunch by now. Cell phone is active; that’s a good sign.
And away she goes! Off on a long-awaited trip! She left home a little after eleven with her friend and airport transport, Dana.
